Iowa Solar Tax Credit Set To Expire in 2021

After ten years of helping Iowans go solar, the state's solar tax credit was not renewed in the recent spring legislative session. There is still time for farms and businesses to take advantage if they act now. Projects need to start construction in 2021 to be eligible for the state tax credit.

How Do I Take Advantage of the Iowa Solar Tax Credit?

The first step is to not wait any longer and give us a call at 800-8080-SUN to discuss your project. As stated, there is a limited amount of funds available and you must sign a contract and begin project construction in 2021 to be eligible for the solar tax credit. The value of the tax credit is defined as 11% of project cost, not to exceed $20,000.

It is important to note, all funds set aside for residential solar projects have already reached their limit, and all remaining funds are available only to commercial installations.
