2020 C&I Project of the Year Winner

Solar Builder Magazine awarded this installation with the 2020 C&I Project of the Year award. It was the result of strong partnership collaboration and a lot of creativity. The end product is a solar array that reflects Pedigree Oven's passion for their own work in the pet treat manufacturing industry, as well as their commitment to a sustainable future in their community.

Committed to Quality Since 1996

Pedigree Ovens and the Pound Bakery started out in 1996 with a single piece of machinery in a 5,000 square foot building. It has since grown to include multiple capabilities and products in its current 212,000 square foot facility in Harvard, Illinois. Installing a solar array capable of producing 100% of their energy needs was a logical step towards their long term growth.

More Than A Pet Project

Pedigree Ovens and the Pound Bakery's business is built upon a desire to provide the highest quality products for its four legged customers using high quality ingredients with no preservatives. Going solar provided an opportunity to further demonstrate their commitment to their community by greatly reducing their carbon pawprint.

Financial Benefits of Solar

With a simple payback of less than one year, Pedigree Ovens was able to offset 100% of their current energy needs which will save them over $119,000 in the first year alone. The ground mounted design also affords the opportunity to grow their operation in the future and scale their solar investment along with it.

A Collaborative Effort

This creative project was the result of strong collaboration among Simpleray's project partners including OMCO Solar, SMA-America, HT-SAAE, and Althoff Industries. Simpleray is proud to offer full turnkey solutions to make solar simple for its customers.
